Writing personalised meal plans for 30+ clients used to take my whole Sunday
As a dietitian I have about 35 active clients at any time. Every 4-6 weeks each one gets an updated meal plan. Each plan is personalised โ dietary requirements, preferences, health goals, budget, cooking skill level. Doing 35 of these manually was not sustainable. I was burnt out. I built a template prompt that takes a client's information sheet and generates a first draft meal plan. It takes about 3 minutes per client now versus 30-40 minutes. I still review every single plan before it goes out. I make clinical adjustments. I add personal notes. The AI draft is a starting point, not a final product. But the starting point is genuinely good. It gets the macros right, it respects the dietary requirements, and it structures the week sensibly. I'm doing maybe 20% of the work I used to do on the actual plan writing. The Sunday afternoon I got back has been... honestly one of the best outcomes of my career.
Create a 7-day meal plan for a client with the following profile: Age [X], Goal [X], Dietary restrictions [list], Food preferences [list], Budget [$X/week], Cooking skill [beginner/intermediate], Time available to cook [X mins per meal]. Include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks. Provide approximate calories and macros for each day.
