Finally got on top of the family admin that was drowning me

Three kids under 8, husband works away 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. I was permanently behind on everything. School permission slips. Medical appointments. Which kid needs what for which day. Birthday parties. Meal planning. I couldn't keep up and I felt like a failure constantly. Someone in a mums group mentioned using AI for "life admin" and I thought it sounded ridiculous. But I was desperate. I started small. I asked Claude to help me make a weekly meal plan based on what was in my fridge. It worked great. Then I asked it to create a weekly routine template for the kids. Then I started using it to write all the emails I'd been putting off โ€” to the school, to the doctor's office, to family members. Three months later I am not exaggerating when I say it has changed my life. I'm not caught up โ€” I don't think I'll ever be fully caught up โ€” but I'm not drowning anymore. The biggest thing for me is the emails. I would put off writing them for days because I couldn't find the words when I was tired. Now I just tell Claude what I need to say and it writes a draft in 30 seconds. I edit it and send. Done. If you're a parent feeling overwhelmed, please try this. Start small.
