AI helped me figure out what was wrong with my sleep
Been tired for months. Not sick, just always exhausted. Tried sleeping more but didn't help. I know you shouldn't use AI for medical stuff but I wasn't trying to diagnose anything, I just wanted to understand the factors that affect sleep quality so I could figure out what to try. I described my situation โ sleep times, phone use, caffeine, exercise, stress levels โ and asked Claude what research says about each factor and which ones might be most impacting me. It walked me through the science around each one without being preachy about it. Pointed out that my late coffee (I was having one at 3pm) was probably still affecting me at bedtime โ caffeine half-life is 5-6 hours. Cut the afternoon coffee. Sleep quality improved noticeably within a week. Probably obvious in hindsight but I didn't know about the half-life thing.
